Lenovo has launched a new smartphone device, the Lenovo S920, which will be released in April for sales in the market. The handset will be launched in China before it makes its way to India soon after.
The new device is an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system based mid-range device. It has a width of 7.9mm, making it one of the slimmest smartphones in the market. The device has been integrated with a new Lenovo’s customized layer on the interface. It has a 5-inch HD LCD display with 1280×720 pixels display resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Mediatek MT6589 quad core processor with 1GB of RAM. Micromax A116 Canvas HD
also has the same chipset. The S920 is expected to have 8GB internal memory which will be expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card.
The device also features an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Its connectivity options are 2G, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, and micro USB port. It will be fueled by a 2250mAh battery.
Considering that the device has the same hardware as the Canvas A116 HD, industry experts are expecting the device to be priced in the similar range between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000. This will put the device in direct competition with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082
, Byond Phablet PII
, Wammy Passion Y HD
, and the Lava Xolo Q800
which have all been openly declared to be the A116 Canvas HD’s competitors. However, the pricing can only be confirmed after the device hits the stores in China and India.
