Lenovo Z5 Pro with slider design and Snapdragon 710 SoC launched: price, specifications

The Lenovo Z5 Pro smartphone has been unveiled in the company’s home market, compete with a slider design, highest-ever screen-to-body ratio, and Dolby Atmos sound enhancement. It is the latest is a series of smartphones adopting a slider mechanism to minimise bezels without incorporating a notch, such as the Mi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2. The new Lenovo Z5 Pro was accompanied by wireless Bluetooth earbuds that compete with the likes of Apple AirPods.


Lenovo Z5 Pro price, release date

The Lenovo Z5 Pro price in China is RMB 1,998 (~Rs 21,000) for the variant with 64GB storage and RMB 2,298 (~Rs 24,000) for the 128GB option. It comes in only Ceramic Black colour and goes on sale in the country on November 10th. The Lenovo Air Wireless earbuds have been released in White and Colour options and are priced at RMB 299 (~Rs 3,200); these too go on sale on November 10th.

Lenovo Z5 Pro specifications

Lenovo Z5 Pro is a smartphone with unique design and the mid-range Snapdragon 710 AIE processor. It sports a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display (1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution) with industry-leading screen-to-body ratio of 95.06 percent and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. There is a capacitive fingerprint sensor embedded in the display. The slider mechanism has been created to house the front camera and the array of sensors. Thanks to the slider design, the bezels on the sides and the top are just 2.07mm thick, while the bezels on the chin are broader.

The Snapdragon 710 processor is backed by 6GB of RAM, and buyers get to choose from 64GB and 128GB storage options. The smartphone does not have provision to expand storage using microSD cards. On the software front, the smartphone runs the Android Oreo-based ZUI 10.0.


The new Lenovo Z5 Pro comes with dual cameras on both the front and the back. On the back are 16MP + 24MP sensors with f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone flash, and PDAF autofocus, with 4K recording support, Super Night Scene and Smart Recognition. In the front — housed in the slider — is the 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is backed by an infrared sensor for face recognition.

The dual-SIM smartphone has connectivity features such as dual-band Wi-Fi with 2×2 MIMO, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, and NFC. Battery capacity of the Lenovo Z5 Pro is 3,350mAh. It weighs 210 grams, and is 155.12×73.02x93mm in size. As mentioned previously, the smartphone comes with Dolby Atmos audio. There is a built-in security chip as well to keep users’ data protected.


Along with the Lenovo Z5 Pro were launched the Lenovo Air Bluetooth Wireless earbuds. These are AI-enabled earbuds that can pair with handsets using Bluetooth 4.2 and sport a water-resistant design with IPX5 rating. The frequency range of the earbuds is 20Hz-20kHz. The earbuds have a 400mAh battery that charges in two hours and delivers battery life of up to 10 hours. On the earbuds is a physical button that allows users to play/ pause music, pick up calls, fire up the onboard voice assistant.
