“The G7 ThinQ is set to be unveiled at an event in New York on May 2nd”
LG has already announced that its latest flagship, the G7 ThinQ, will be unveiled on May 2nd at New York. The handset has already been leaked a number of times ahead of the official launch, with the most recent leak being its alleged official renders. Now, more leaks have surfaced on the interwebs ahead of the official launch, including a promotional video and the ability to customise the display notch, as shown in an alleged hands-on image.
Speaking of the display notch first, in the leaked images shared by SlashLeaks we get a look at the display notch settings on the upcoming flagship. It can be sees that the LG G7 ThinQ might feature the option to hide the display notch by adding a virtual bezel on the top. Further, the smartphone might also give an option to switch between a rounder or more edgier corners on the top. There is also a setting to apply a custom colour to the bezel, which will then be applied to homescreen and default apps on the phone. In the image, we can see the virtual bezel activated on the top already, which totally hides the display cut-out.
Moving on to the leaked promotional video from the brand, the video itself doesn’t reveal anything of substance except drawing a parallel with the smartphone. According to the video, the brand has partnered with the Korean boy band – BTS, which happens to be a seven members’ group. The band goes on to reveal that the upcoming flagship of the brand will come flaunting seven amazing features, without detailing any of them. The teaser video then ends with the members hinting that more updates will soon follow.
According to previous reports, the LG G7 ThinQ is expected to come with a 6.1-inch MLCD+ QHD+ display. The performance of the phone is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, aided by 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It is rumoured to come with 64GB of expandable storage. As for the camera department, it will flaunt a pair of snappers on the rear panel, with the primary sensor being a 16MP unit. As for selfies, it is expected to feature an 8MP camera.
We will bring you more updates on the handset next week, when the brand officially unveils the G7 ThinQ. Stay tuned.
