"The upcoming LG smartphone will be launch in June itself, according to our source"
While Chinese brands Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO have taken the Indian market by storm, Korean giant LG has remained rather quiet in the country, even as compatriot Samsung launched a new strategy with its Galaxy M series. Now, however, 91mobiles has learnt from reliable sources that LG plans to soon launch a new smartphone for the Indian market. This smartphone will be part of a new India-centric series the company is cooking up. Moreover, the upcoming LG smartphone will be sold only online in India.
As for the smartphone, whose name could not be determined at the moment, it will be targeted at the affordable segment of the Indian market. The images that we have sourced show that the handset will feature a triple-camera setup and a gradient colour scheme on the back. The rear camera setup that includes a camera sensor encircled in a red ring, with the LED flash placed below the module. The handset will also feature a fingerprint sensor on the back, with the company's logo placed towards the bottom on the rear panel.
We can also see the power and volume buttons on the right spine of the handset, with the antenna lines placed at the top as well as the bottom of both edges. One of the images also has the text that says the LG smartphone will have a FullVision display and AI features. The source also indicates that the handset will be getting several features from the brand's flagship G and V series.
The information about this upcoming LG smartphone comes soon after Samsung announced that its own online-only Galaxy M series amassed 2 million in sales in 70 days of release. It'd surely be global-first for LG to launch a new India-centric, online-only smartphone series, and shows the brand's keenness to win the world's second largest smarpthone market. We shall be hearing more over the next few weeks as our source suggests that the first handset in the new lineup would be launched as soon as the month of June itself.
