LG India plans to launch two W series and two Q series phones in 2019

“LG plans to launch the G8 ThinQ in India in August and two W series phones around Diwali, along with two Q series models”

This year, LG hasn’t been very active in the Indian market as it has only launched a single smartphone – the V40 ThinQ  in the country, that too back in January. Today, the company introduced its first W series phones called the W10, W30, and W30 Pro. That’s won’t be the end of LG’s plans for India though as the brand’s roadmap for the rest of the year includes multiple smartphones, 91mobiles has learned from a company executive.

On the sidelines of the LG W series launch event, in a conversation with Advait Vaidya, Business Head – Mobile Computing, LG India 91mobiles has learnt the brand aims to launch at least five smartphones in the country. The executive revealed that the company is planning to launch two more W series smartphones in the country around Diwali. There will also be two Q series phones, apart from a G series handset. While there’s no word when the Q series handsets will arrive, Vaidya exclusively told 91mobiles that the G8 ThinQ flagship will be reaching Indian shores at some point in August.

The executive refrained from revealing anything else. However, it clearly looks like the brand will be competing in the budget category with the W series, while the Q series will be targeting at the affordable segment. As for the LG G8 ThinQ, it will be tackling the premium smartphone market.

Talking about the LG W series, it is the company’s range of online-only, India-centric products. These are aimed at the budget phones from the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, and others. The LG W10 is an entry-level offering with a U-shape notch and dual rear cameras. The W30 Pro is the most premium offering with triple rear cameras, while the W30 bridges the gap between the two models.

As for the pricing, the LG W10 and W30 have been priced at Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999 respectively. Pricing of the W30 Pro hasn’t been revealed yet. The W series will be available to buy in the country starting from July 3rd via Amazon India.
