LG has launched its latest budget segment smartphone called the LG K31 in the U.S. The USP of the LG K31 is the waterdrop notch. The smartphone comes with entry-level specifications that include dual rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and a 2GHz octa-core processor, among other things. LG K31 price in the U.S. is set at USD 150 (Rs 11,000 approx). The affordable smartphone is up for grabs in the country with all major carriers and their subsidiaries. There is no word on international availability yet, so it’s unclear whether the phone will be coming to India.

The LG K31 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, which is based on a 12nm manufacturing process. The SoC is equipped with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2GHz. The Helio P22 chipset is paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The LG K31 comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
The LG K31 flaunts a 5.7-inch FullVision HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) display with a waterdrop notch design. As for the optics, the smartphone houses a dual-camera setup at the back that comprises a 13MP primary sensor and a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded just below the rear-camera placement and it houses a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. The company claims that the phone is capable of delivering a battery life of up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 22 days of standby.
