LG Q70 with punch-hole display and Snapdragon 675 SoC launched: price, specifications

LG Q70 is the latest mid-range smartphone from the South Korean phonemaker. LG took the wraps off the successor to LG Q60 in Korea as the vendor’s first smartphone with a punch-hole display. The LG Q70 handset dons a glass back, metal frame, and an all-display fascia with a fair amount of bezels. Other major highlights of the LG Q70 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series’ flagship chipset, triple rear cameras, military-grade durability, and a beefy battery cell. The phone is also among the few mid-range offerings that still offers a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack.

The LG Q70 is a successor to LG Q60, which was announced earlier this year.

LG Q70 price, availability

The LG Q70 price in Korea has been set at KRW 5,48,900, which roughly translates to Rs 32,550 in the India currency. The phone comes in Mirror Black colour and goes for sale in the country from September 6th onwards. There’s no word on the LG Q70 India availability yet.

LG Q70 specifications

Talking about the LG Q70 specifications, the handset is MIL-STD-810G compliant that can withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and humidity. It features a 6.4-inch ‘FullVision’ display with Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,310 pixels) resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 675 mobile platform with Adreno 612 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The handset comes with 64GB onboard storage, which can be further expandable up to 2T with a microSD card.

For photography, the LG Q70 features triple cameras with a 32MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera, and 5MP depth sensor setup at the back. The front camera is equipped with the 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The handset runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and houses a 4,000mAh battery with QC 3.0 fast charging. The Q70 sports a fingerprint scanner at the back, a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side, and Type-C charging. Other features include Hi-Fi Quad DAC, DTS: X 3D Cinema Sound, and connectivity options such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, and NFC.
