“Logitech has launched the Big Bang protective case for Apple iPad, and a slim keyboard folio cover for the Samsung Tab 4”
Mobile device accessories maker Logitech has announced the launch of its new line of protective cases for the Apple iPad Air and the iPad Mini called the Big Bang. Contradicting its name, the Big Bang series of protective cases are essentially designed to protect the devices from falls of up to 1.4 meters, this being the usual height from which a device can drop while an average user is carrying it.
With the use of special shock-absorbing materials, Logitech has ensured that the tablets stay safe even after if they drop face down, or on the edges. This is ensured with a two-part cover including a bumper case for the device and a flap cover that comes complete with scratch-preventing materials used on the inside to ensure the display remains scratch-free. However, users will pay a slight price for the security, as the weight of the Big Bang cases tips towards the higher side.
The Big Bang case has been made available for the Apple iPad Air and the Apple iPad Mini and will be available in two colours to begin with – fluorescent yellow and grey. Following this, the company also has plans to make more colours available for the covers to the users in India.
In addition to the Big Bang case for Apple iPad devices, Logitech has also announced the launch of the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. Along with an ergonomically-designed Bluetooth keyboard, the folio case comes complete with device protection features as well. Although it’s not as tough as the Big Bang case, it should provide a fair bit of protection to the tablet.
The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, 10.1 is built around the idea of maximising the utility of the tablet, and enables better productivity as well. The keyboard offers a battery life of about three months between recharges, and offers seamless connectivity with the Galaxy tab 4, 10.1
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Jangra, Cluster Category Manager, India & South West Asia at Logitech said, “We feel proud to announce the launch of new range of mobility devices for iPad Air, iPad mini and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. We have worked on Logitech’s deep expertise in creating comfortable typing experience with an ultra-thin design for convenient working style on the go.” He further added, “our main focus lies on providing people with accessories that are more flexible, versatile and protective.”
The Logitech Big Bang protective case for the iPad Air and the iPad Mini has been available in the market through Apple premium resellers to start with, carrying a price tag of Rs 4,995 and Rs 4,495 respectively. On the other hand, the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard folio for Samsung Tab 4, 10.1 costs Rs 6,495 and will be available through Logitech stores online and offline.
