
HTech founder Madhav Sheth has announced that he has joined Nxtcell to bring Alcatel smartphones to India. This development follows an announcement by Alcatel wherein it said that it would launch a smartphone with a stylus in India soon. Sheth will continue his role at HTech, which is Honor’s India distributor.
Madhav Sheth to bring Alcatel smartphones to India
- Sheth, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), wrote that he is bringing Alcatel smartphones to India.
- In the same post, he wrote that he would work with Alcatel team to foster technology transfer, foster patent-driven innovation, and ensure that Alcatel’s local manufacturing aligns with India’s vision for tech self-reliance.
“We have successfully signed technology agreements, and our local manufacturing initiatives are poised to significantly boost India’s tech ecosystem and enhance exports,” Sheth wrote in his post.
- As per a report by MoneyControl, the HTech founder has joined Nxtcell as a shareholder and a director to launch Alcatel smartphones in India.
- Nxtcell is the Indian company that holds licence to the brand Alcatel that operates under TCL Communications that through a direct licensing agreement with Nokia.
- It’s worth mentioning that this announcement comes less than a month After Alcatel announced that it would soon launch a host of new devices in India starting with smartphone.
- The company had also said that it would manufacture all its smartphones in India and setup a pan-India service network to support its customers.
What happens to HTech now?
- Sheth, in a statement to the publication confirmed that he would not be leaving HTech even as he spearheads the launch of Alcatel smartphones in India.
- He said he would continue his role at HTech while working with Nxtcell to launch Alcatel smartphones in India.
- He also said that HTech will not be involved in launching Alcatel smartphones in India.
- Interestingly enough, Sheth teased the launch of Honor devices shortly after sharing details about his role at Nxtcell.
- In a separate post on X, Sheth shared that HTech had received approvals for launching five new Honor devices in India. However, he didn’t share the products that the company would launch.
- However, reports suggest that the company could launch Honor X series and Magic series smartphones in India soon.
