Chairperson Anand Mahindra teased the first look of the upcoming XUV400 electric compact SUV on the occasion of the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The XUV400 electric compact SUV has been a long time coming, and it seems that Mahindra is finally ready to take the wraps off it. The Mahindra XUV400 will be Mahindra’s first bet on the mainstream passenger EV segment, and the vehicle will go up against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV Prime and Tata Nexon EV MAX in India.
The Mahindra XUV400 is expected to be priced at Rs 15 to 18 lakh (ex-showroom) and could deliver a range of 450km. Mahindra will unveil the XUV400 on September 8th.

A tweet from Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, teased the upcoming XUV400 electric compact SUV. The teaser shows some of the design highlights, which include a charging port inside the fuel filler flap, LED DRLs upfront, the new butterfly style Mahindra logo and a new ‘X’ pattern front grille.
The XUV400 could look substantially different from the XUV300 that it is derived from and will be longer than 4m in length. The XUV400 will also get redesigned rear profile to accommodate the different sheet metal on beyond the C pillar. The XUV400 also seems to get a new style grille with embellishments and an ‘X’ pattern.
The teaser video concludes with the unveiling date, which has been set for September 8th 2022. However, given the trends in the industry as well as Mahindra’s track record, the vehicle launch and prices could be notified at a later date.
