MediaTek has jumped on the plus chipset wagon and has launched its MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC. Last year, the company launched it’s MediaTek Dimenstity 9000 as a competitor to Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and now Dimensity 9000+ will rival Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The company says the first MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ powered smartphone could be released in Q3 2022.
The Dimensity 9000+ brings 5 percent faster CPU and 10 percent GPU performance. It is said to be even more powerful and efficient than the Dimensity 9000. Let’s take a look at the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ features and availability.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ features
The MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC has an ARM v9 CPU architecture with a 4nm octa-core process. The processor can go up to 3.2GhZ compared to the 3.05GHz of its predecessor. The Dimensity 9000+ has one ultra-Cortex-X2 core, three super Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores. It supports LPDDR5X RAM up to 7500Mbps speed and supports 8MB L3 CPU cache and 6MB of system cache while being 20 percent more power-efficient than LPDDR5.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ packs an Arm Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, paired with MediaTek’s fifth-generation Application Processor Unit (APU 5.0) for powerful AI computing capabilities, offering a 5 percent faster CPU and 10 percent GPU performance.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ has a MediaTek MiraVision 790 feature that, with the help of MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 technology, supports the latest WQHD+ 144Hz display and FullHD+ display with up to 180Hz refresh rate. It can also power a Wi-Fi Display up to a 4K display with a 60Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.
For photography, the MediaTek Imagiq 790 feature of MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ supports 320MP 18-bit HDR video recording. The chipset flaunts a 9Gpixel/s ISP that supports 4K HDR videos and AI noise reductions.
Connectivity features include a sub-6GHz 5G modem with up to 7Gbps downlink with improved efficiency, thanks to MediaTek’s 5G UltraSave 2.0 power-saving enhancement suite. It supports 3CC carrier aggregation (300MHz) and dual SIM 5G/4G support. MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ has built-in Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Beidou III-B1C GNSS support.
