“The Meitu V4 sports 21MP front and rear cameras, aided by Shestilinzovaya optics with sapphire protection”
China-based manufacturer Meitu, which many of you have probably never heard of, has just launched its latest flagship smartphone called the V4. It appears to be the world’s first smartphone to boast a 21-megapixel front-facing camera to ensure your trip to selfie heaven. With that many megapixels, the Meitu V4 could easily put some of the so-called “selfie smartphones” like the HTC Desire Eye and Sony Xperia C3 to shame. Well, at least on paper.
The Meitu V4’s front-facing camera also sports an f/2.2 aperture with Shestilinzovaya optics and sapphire protection, and a 78-degree wide-angle lens that should come in handy for wider selfies. You’ll also find a 21-megapixel camera on the back with a dual-tone LED flash and Shestilinzovaya optics with sapphire protection.
The Meitu V4 sports an appealing hexagon-shaped design, which the brand has dubbed “double V”. The top and bottom of the phone are made of metal. It comes with a 5-inch AMOLED full HD display, and is fuelled by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, aided by 3GB of RAM. It runs Meitu’s MeiOS 2.5 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Its other features include 64GB of internal memory, a 2,650mAh battery, and 4G LTE.
The Meitu V4 selfie smartphone has been priced at 3,499 Yuan (around Rs 36,300). The brand will also launch a special limited edition of the phone made out of premium materials, which will be offered for 6,099 Yuan, approximately Rs 63,300.
