MG Motors has now confirmed that the upcoming MG Comet electric city car will be launched in India in April this year. The EV was unveiled for the Indian market last week and the company has now announced that the vehicle will come in five colour options. The MG Comet EV is aimed towards urban users and will provide an adequate range for travelling in and around the city. The Comet EV will also be equipped with touchscreen-based infotainment, LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, etc.
MG Comet EV India launch in April 2023
The MG Comet EV, based on Wuling Air EV electric car, will be launched in India next month, an official statement from MG Motors stated. The MG Comet EV will get five colour options – White, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink. The prices of the MG Comet EV will be announced next month.
MG Comet EV specifications
The MG Comet EV is a derivative of the Wuling Air EV city car and the specifications of the Indian version could be similar. The MG Comet EV could get a 17.3kWh battery unit and a 26.7kWh battery unit with 200km and 300km of claimed range respectively. The electric motor gets a peak power output of 40bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The EV will also take about 8.5 hours to 10 hours to fully charge at a home socket. The Comet EV will get MacPherson Struts suspension upfront, Multi-Link suspension at the back, and 12-inch wheels with 145 cross sections.
The MG Comet EV will get a tall boy design that will accentuate the space on the inside. The vehicle could also get modern creature comforts such as an Auto AC, power windows, leatherette seats, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, cooled glove box, digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
