Xiaomi has launched its flagship smartphone Mi 10 in India. It’s the company’s first high-end Mi-series offering from the company since the Mi MIX 2, which launched back in 2017 in the country. The all-new Mi 10 touts 5G connectivity, Snapdragon 865 SoC, 90Hz refresh rate screen, and 108MP quad rear cameras. It also packs a beefy battery cell, impressive 30W wired and wireless charging support, and a curved AMOLED display that has punch-hole atop for the selfie camera. The handset will compete against the likes of OnePlus 8 series, Realme X50 Pro, and iQOO 3 in the affordable flagship category.
Mi 10 price in India, sale date
The Xiaomi Mi 10 price in India is set at Rs 49,999for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The phone’s 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant has been priced at Rs 54,999. Those who pre-book the handset will get the Mi Wireless Powerbank priced at Rs 2,499 for free. HDFC Bank credit and debit cardholders will get Rs 3,000 cashback on the handset; there will also be no cost-EMIs for the smartphone, which comes in Coral Green and Twilight Grey colour options. The Mi 10 India sale date has not been announced yet but the company is taking pre-orders for the smartphone starting 2pm today on Amazon.in.
Mi 10 specifications
Talking about Mi 10 specifications, the handset boots Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box. The handset ships with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) curved AMOLED display that bears 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and punch-hole design. The display is said to have a peak brightness of 1,120 nits and offers 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. At the helm of Mi 10 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC with a 5G modem, with LiquidCool 2.0 vapour chamber with graphite stack and graphene to ensure heat dissipation. The chipset is accompanied by 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The handset supports dual-mode 5G (SA + NSA) – in India, it has to make its peace with 4G due to lack of 5G infrastructure – and Wi-Fi 6 standard.
The Mi 10 camera specifications are headlined by a 108MP primary sensor with a 7-element lens, 1/1.33-inch sensor, and OIS support. This is paired with a 13MP wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view and f/2.4 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 lens, and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 lens. The phone touts 8K video recording at a resolution of 7,680×4,320 pixels. There is a single 20MP sensor on the front to handle selfies and video calling.
A 4,780mAh battery with 30W wired and wireless charging support drives the entire setup. Other highlights include 10W reverse wireless charging, in-display fingerprint scanner, and standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS/ GLONASS. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone measures 165.2mm x 74.8mm x 8.96mm and weighs 208 grams.
