Mi A3 India launch will reportedly take place on August 23rd. Citing a well-placed industry source, Smartprix suggests that the company’s next Android One offering will be released in the country this month. The Mi A3’s price in India and its availability details are still under the curtain at the moment. The smartphone was originally launched in July as the successor to the Xiaomi Mi A2. The Mi A3 is essentially a variant of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e, which was launched in China recently. The former has the same set of specs and design as the latter, except for the software, which is the vanilla version of Android 9 Pie.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 arrived as a huge upgrade over its predecessor, and it is the first Mi A series smartphone to sport a triple camera setup at the rear, a waterdrop notch above the screen, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset comes with a 6.08-inch AMOLED HD+ display bearing an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. The phone comes in two RAM and storage variants – 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB.
At the rear, the Xiaomi Mi A3 has a 48MP Sony main camera with f/1.7 aperture, aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has a 32MP front shooter with AI features and an aperture of f/2.0. The selfie camera of the Mi A3 is located inside the waterdrop notch above the screen.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and GPS with GLONASS. A 4,030mAh battery with 18W fast charging support keeps the whole show running. Last, as the Mi A3 part of Android Q program, the smartphone is expected to receive guaranteed software upgrade for at least two upcoming Android generations – Android Q and R updates.
