“The new Mi CC series is aimed at the youth and promises great selfies”
Xiaomi’s new Mi CC9 series launches tomorrow in China and there’s a lot we already know about the handset including its specifications and design. The pricing will be official tomorrow but an e-commerce portal in China had prematurely posted the Mi CC9 listing revealing prices for its base model. The Meitu Edition was also listed along with the standard variant, but the listings seem to have been taken down since then.
As per the screenshots, it can be seen that the Mi CC9 will begin with a base price of 2,499 Yuan while the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition will start at 2,999. This does leave a question mark on the Mi CC9e which is the most affordable model in the series but we expect it to be at least RMB 200 (~Rs 2,000) cheaper than the Mi CC9 base variant. Now, the series is currently only exclusive to China but it translates to an attractive price of Rs 25,500 for the Mi CC9, while the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition price converts to approximately Rs 30,500. The Mi CC9e will be the most affordable handset in the new lineup, bordering in the Rs 22,000 range.
Both the Mi CC9 and CC9e have been spotted on TENAA with the bigger model having a 6.39-inch waterdrop notch-toting screen while the smaller CC9e model bearing a 6.08-inch display. Both models will also differ in the processor with speculations suggesting the Snapdragon 730 SoC on the Mi CC9 while the Snapdragon 710 processor is expected to power the Mi CC9e. The Meitu Edition specifications mostly remain under wraps but Xiaomi has teased the design of the handsets through its official channels last week. Xiaomi India’s Marketing Head Anuj Sharma recently hinted in an interview with 91mobiles that the doors are open for the Mi CC9 series to be brought to India.
