Mi CC9 Pro price: Xiaomi’s first 108MP penta-camera phone might be as expensive as OnePlus 7T series

The Mi CC9 Pro is scheduled to launch on November 5th in China alongside the brand’s first smartwatch. The TENAA listing from earlier today revealed key Mi CC9 Pro specifications and images. Given that the handset is confirmed to feature a penta camera setup, with the primary 108MP sensor, the cost of the camera module is likely going to be expensive. Rumours are rife that the sensor will be five times more expensive than the previous generation Mi CC9 smartphones. The Chinese media is speculating that the Mi CC9 Pro price will be upwards of RMB 3,000 and could be close to RMB 4,000. If that’s indeed the case, this price will put the Mi CC9 Pro in the range of OnePlus 7T series, which starts at RMB 2,999 (around Rs 30,100) for the base OnePlus 7T 8GB + 128GB model and RMB 4,599 (around Rs 46,150) for the OnePlus 7T Pro in China.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is confirmed to feature a 108MP Samsung primary sensor, coupled with a 12MP 1/2.6-inch 2PD sensor with 1.4um for 2x zoom and portrait with 50mm focal length, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 117-degree field of view, and a super macro lens that can capture 1.5cm shots. The handset is already confirmed to come with 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom, thanks to the telephoto lens. On the front, it is said to feature a 32MP unit for selfies and video chats.

TENAA listing revealed that the Mi CC9 Pro specifications would include a 6.47-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 2,340 × 1080 pixels resolution. It will be available in multiple variants: 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB, and high-end 12GB + 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. In terms of software, it is likely to boot Android 9.0 with custom MIUI 10 skin. The handset measures 157.8×74.2×9.67mm and weighs 208g. A massive 5,170mAh battery is expected to fuel the handset.
