“This is the first we have heard of the Mi CC9 Pro, which may also be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor”
A Mi CC9 Pro model with a 108MP camera could be on its way to being official this month, as per fresh claims made by a tipster. This comes after Xiaomi recently introduced its novel 108MP handset – the Mi MIX Alpha – in China. It’s clear that Xiaomi would be using this sensor on the most premium handsets and the Mi CC9 series is a fresh new range aimed at millennials in China. The company already has two models in this line-up, namely the Mi CC9e (which is called the Mi A3 outside of China) and the standard Mi CC9.
The tipster says that the Mi CC9 Pro would also feature a Snapdragon 730G. However, Xiaomi’s new CC9 line does not feature even the 64MP sensor, so to see the top-of-the-line 108MP sensor would be unexpected, to say the least. This new leak might also fan rumours of the Mi A3 Pro. This new information comes as a surprise as speculation was rife that the Mi MIX 4 would feature a 108MP rear sensor. The tipster does have a good track record with Xiaomi leaks but it’s best not to jump to any conclusions just yet.
It’s been known before that Xiaomi has not one or two, but four devices with the 108MP sensor in the works. These devices are codenamed devices codenamed “tucana“, “draco”, “umi” and “cmi“, as per a previous report. Also, none of them are believed to be the Mi MIX 4. Hence, Xiaomi definitely has many models planned with that particular module. It does remain to be seen if Xiaomi will launch all these devices this year itself or later. The company hasn’t officially talked about this new model or hinted at it, but if it is going official on October 24th, we should see teasers coming soon.
