“Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha expected to come with Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, up to 12GB RAM and run on Android 10 with MIUI 11 custom skin”
The Mi MIX 4/ Alpha is scheduled to go official in China on September 24th, i.e., tomorrow. However, details regarding its design are completely under wraps, and the brand must be appreciated for managing to keep it a secret this long. However, a new internal PPT slide has surfaced online now, revealing the wraparound display that was teased in an official poster recently. The slide shows the Mi MIX Alpha will feature extremely curved edges, which are curved to the back. The slide also reveals features such as a face ID substitute, eSIM, and NFC.
Furthermore, it’s possible the curved display might stretch all the way back to the full rear, thereby making it function as a second screen. It’s also rumoured that Mi MIX Alpla might feature a ‘Waterfall display design’, similar to Vivo NEX 3 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro. It could offer up to 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. The handset would be made out of Titanium, Silica, and Alumina.
Separately, in its latest teaser, Xiaomi showed off the Mi MIX Alpha’s camera and capabilities. In a way, the brand confirmed the smartphone would be the first phone to feature a 100MP sensor, a huge upgrade from the 64MP sensor. Xiaomi also released a camera sample with a resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels and about 40MB in size. Furthermore, the photo retains the quality and details even when zoomed up to 8x times. As for other specifications, the Mi MIX Alpha should sport a Quad HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, ship with Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor coupled with 12GB RAM. It could run on Android 10 based on MIUI 11, which is also confirmed to go official at the same event.
