“It isn’t clear if the Mi Note 10 would be a mid-ranger like its predecessor or a flagship model”
Xiaomi’s Mi Note 3 smartphone was announced back in 2017, but unlike its predecessor it isn’t a flagship; instead, it was a premium mid-ranger. Xiaomi didn’t release a successor for the handset in 2018 and a few months ago, it mentioned that Mi Note and Mi Max series wouldn’t be updated at all this year. However, that might change soon as rumours suggest that Xiaomi might unveil a new Mi Note smartphone later this month. The smartphone in question is the Mi Note 10 whose retail box now surfaced online, courtesy of Twitter user @TechytMr. Unfortunately, the box doesn’t reveal any key Mi Note 10 specifications. It isn’t clear if the Mi Note 10 would be a mid-ranger like its predecessor or a flagship model.
Apart from Mi Note 10, Xiaomi is also said to be planning on launching the Mi CC9 Pro on October 24th. To recall, the Chinese-brand launched the CC-series back in July, and it is aimed at millennials and photography enthusiasts. The Mi CC9 Pro specifications rumoured at the moment include 108MP primary camera and Snapdragon 730G gaming chipset. No other details are revealed for now, but if the CC9 Pro launch is indeed on October 24th, we should come across teasers and promotional images in the next few days. Perhaps the Mi Note 10 may also get launched at the same event, but that’s just speculation.
Separately, Xiaomi is also reportedly working on a new smartphone with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a telephoto lens with 5x zoom. The refresh rate option was spotted in the company’s MIUI 11 beta-version The description for the setting says that higher refresh rates “[make] the picture smoother” while lower refresh rates (60Hz) “[save] battery.” It’s possible it could be a gaming phone or another flagship model. We should know more details soon.
