Mi Note 10 smartphone reported to launch in October

“There are no leaked specifications to share at this point but the Mi Note 10 has been tipped to mark the reboot of the series”

A new Mi Note 10 smartphone could be launched by Xiaomi by this month’s end, tipster Ice Universe has claimed on Twitter. This comes as a surprise, especially because Lei Jun, the brand’s CEO, said in an official post earlier this year that Xiaomi will not be launching any Mi Max or Mi Note series smartphones this year. At the time, we even speculated that this might be the end of the road for both these series altogether. However, Ice Universe is a reliable source when it comes to leaks and this makes us believe that the brand might have had a change of heart since the original post.

In the tweet, Ice Universe says, “Xiaomi will restart the Note series smartphone, and will release the Xiaomi Mi Note10 flagship mobile phone at the end of October.” Apart from the alleged name of the handset, unfortunately, there are no speculated specifications to share regarding the handset just yet. However, we should remind you that the brand has been particularly conservative when it comes to India and has not launched any Mi Note series handsets in India to date.

Separately, Xiaomi has been tipped to be working on a new handset that features the highly-coveted 120Hz display and a 5x telephoto lens. Considering that displays with high refresh rates have become a rage in the smartphone market, there is no surprise that Xiaomi looks set to board the bandwagon. If you are wondering how this information was revealed, the latest Android custom skin, MIUI 11, was spotted with up to 120Hz refresh rate option. If you are worried about the battery consumption, there will be a toggle that will allow you to set the refresh rate at 60Hz as well.
