Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 specifications, design

An alleged poster of the Mi Pad 5 was posted on Weibo today. The poster shows the Mi Pad 5 from the front and the rear. As you can see, the Mi Pad 5 has a display with extremely thin bezels. The poster says that the screen of the Mi Pad 5 has a 2K resolution, which could either mean that it has 2048 x 1080 pixels resolution or 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. Xiaomi could also have gone for a custom resolution for the tablet. Anyway, the image also reveals that the display has a 120Hz refresh rate.

The poster has”860″ written in the features section. It could mean that the Mi Pad 5 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC. However, we aren’t sure about that, considering the standard model is said to pack the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and the Pro model the Snapdragon 870. Anyway, the tablet seems to have a dual-camera setup at the rear with an LED flash. According to the poster, the Mi Pad 5 has a USB Type-C port at the bottom with two speaker/microphone grills, and power and volume buttons to the right-hand side of the device. The back panel of the tablet seem to have been made out of metal.

If this is indeed a genuine poster of the Mi Pad 5 then we are very close to the launch of the tablet. According to the leaks and rumours that we have so far, the Mi Pad 5 will have a 10.95-inch display, a 20MP +13MP dual-camera setup at the rear, an 8,720mAh battery, and the Android 11 operating system with MIUI customisation tailored for tablet usage. Hopefully, we will know more about the Mi Pad 5 and the Mi Pad 5 Pro as these tablets make it to certification and benchmarking platforms.
