“Xiaomi adds the ‘News’ section to Patch Wall menu on all Mi TVs making it easier to access news channels”
Xiaomi has added a new ‘News’ section in its PatchWall UI’s menu. This allows users to access headlines and news easily and directly without browsing through hundreds of channel. The new feature is available on all Mi TVs available in India. Xiaomi debuted its Mi TV line-up in India with Mi LED Smart TV 4 back in February 2018. This will be in addition to the existing sections on the Mi TV’s PatchWall UI, such as VIP, Movies, TV Shows, Kids and Music.

The ‘News’ section in the main menu gives quick access to all the news channels in one go, which is neat and simple. Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI learns users’ usage patterns over time and offers personalised recommendations. Xiaomi has tied up with various content providers, including Hotstar, Voot, ALTBalaji, Hungama, Sony LIV, TVF, and Sun NXT for its Mi TV line-up. Xiaomi’s current line of Mi TVs includes Mi TV 4, Mi TV 4C, Mi TV 4A, Mi LED TV 4A PRO, and Mi TV 4X PRO.
Xiaomi’s Mi TV line-up has been well-received thanks to its aggressive pricing. As of November 2018, the company announced it has sold over a million smart TVs in the Indian market in a span of nine months, which is quite a feat. The company has also started manufacturing Mi LED TVs locally in Andhra Pradesh in partnership with Dixon Technologies. The plant is located in Tirupati and aims to produce 1,00,000 televisions per month.
