Micromax 49-inch and 55-inch Android smart TVs launched: price, specifications

Micromax has announced two new Google-certified smart TVs in India, the first Android-powered TVs from the domestic electronics maker. The televisions come in two screen sizes: 49-inch and 55-inch, both featuring High-Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to offer “stunning picture quality.” The company also claims that the TVs are Eco Energy efficient and consume low power.

The 49-inches Micromax smart TV has been priced at Rs 51,990, while the 55-inch model costs Rs 61,990. Both the models will be available in stores pan India starting this month. 

Commenting on the launch, Rohan Agarwal, Director, Micromax Informatics Ltd. said, “With the launch of our first ever Google-certified television, we have taken a step further in providing our consumers with memorable and stunning picture-quality experience and a wide array of options with Google’s Play Store. The new range targets the consumers who want a larger than life experience and desire to access smart android content on a bigger, sharper, crystal clear screen. We are committed to grow this category further and consolidate our position in the television segment in India.

Micromax smart TVs specifications

The new Google-Certified Android TVs from Micromax come with near edge-to-edge display. The panel offers 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) resolution and HDR 10 support. They are powered by a quad-core A53 processor coupled with 2.5GB of RAM and 16GB flash storage. For sound output, the TVs pack two 12W speakers that are Dolby and DTS certified.

On the software front, both the 49-inch and 55-inch TVs boot Android Oreo and come loaded with Google suite of apps such as Google Play Store, Games, Music, Movies and TV. The TVs also come with a built-in Chromecast feature that allows users to cast smartphones screen wirelessly. Other features include Google Assistant for voice search and wireless smartphone control.
