“The Micromax HS3 could be the brand’s second smartphone with a bezel-less display”
Last month, Micromax joined the club of bezel-free smartphone manufacturers with the launch of the Canvas Infinity. Now it appears that the brand is all set to launch yet another smartphone with an almost bezel-free display. Ahead of the launch, the upcoming Micromax HS3 has been spotted on the benchmarking website GFXBench. The listing on the site has revealed most specifications of the bezel-free device, which suggests that it will be a mid-range offering.
As per GFXBench, the Micromax HS3 will feature a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. The phone will be powered by an octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, mated to 3GB of RAM. The device will come with 32GB of storage, which is expected to be further expandable via a microSD card slot. The camera department of the Micromax HS3 will include a 20-megapixel front snapper and a 16-megapixel rear shooter. The listing also reveals that the phone will boot Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box.
There’s no word regarding the pricing and availability of the Micromax HS3 at the moment. It is expected to be a sub-Rs 18,000 offering, and will compete against selfie-centric smartphones from brands like OPPO and Vivo. We will update you as soon as the company announces anything.
As for the Micromax Canvas Infinity, the brand’s first nearly bezel-free phone, it is priced at Rs 9,999. The device (review) features a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. It Android Nougat out-of-the-box, and is fuelled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. The device gets 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The camera department includes a 13MP rear snapper and a 16MP front shooter. In terms of connectivity, you get 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 2,900mAh battery completes the specs.
