Microsoft Surface 3 and Surface Mini tablet reportedly in the development

Microsoft Surface 3 will reportedly feature NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. Microsoft is seemingly planning to release a successor to the Surface tablet this year. A Twitter user @MSFTNerd, popular for leaking Microsoft products, has dropped some beans on the specs of the Microsoft Surface 3 and Surface Mini tablets.

The Microsoft Surface 3 is expected to sport NVIDIA’s latest processor announced at CES 2014, the Tegra K1, and it will be released by the end of 2014. Microsoft will be bringing an update for Windows 8.1 platform with InstantGo support for Intel’s power chips and its upcoming BayTrail+ for mobile devices.

Microsoft is also reportedly working on a miniature edition of the device with 7.5-inch display. It looks like the manufacturer is dropping plans for a surface laptop at the moment. An LTE network supported variant of the Surface 2 tablet is also in the development, and is reported see the light of the day by the end of this year.
