Microsoft Surface Pro 8 launched in India; Surface Pro 7+ finally available for consumers

Microsoft today announced the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Pro 7+ in India. However, the Surface Pro 7+ is not a new addition to the Surface lineup in India. The Surface Pro 7+ was announced in India in February 2021 but was only available for commercial and educational organisations. Now, Microsoft is making it available for retail customers. The Surface Pro 8 was announced in the US back in September 2021, and now it’s headed to India, bringing the 11th Gen Intel Core processor onboard. Microsoft’s Surface Pro 8 will be available for purchase in India in two variants — WiFi-only and LTE, priced at Rs 1,04,499 and Rs 1,27,599, respectively. Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 7+ will be retailing at Rs 83,999 for the Wi-Fi-only variant and Rs 1,09,499 for the LTE option.

Both Surface Pro 8 and Surface Pro 7+ will be on sale starting February 15th via authorised resellers and e-commerce websites, including Flipkart, Amazon, Croma, Reliance Digital, and more. Interested customers can pre-book the Surface Pro 8 via selected retailers starting today. Microsoft is also offering a complimentary Surface Pro Signature Keyboard on pre-orders.

Surface Pro 8 specifications and features

The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is built on Intel’s EVO platform, powered by the latest 11th generation Intel Core Tiger Lake processors. As per Microsoft, the Surface Pro 8 is twice as fast as the Surface Pro 7. The WiFi-only variant comes with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while with the LTE model, you can have up to 17GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. 

Surface Pro 8 features a 13-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2880×1920 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It comes with a 5MP camera on the front and a 10MP camera on the rear capable of recording 4K videos. Microsoft claims up to 16 hours of battery life on the Surface Pro 8. Connectivity options include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 2x Thunderbolt port, and SIM card slot for the LTE variant.

The Surface Pro 7+ comes with the 11th generation Intel Core processors under the hood. The WiFi-only variant comes equipped with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of removable SSD, whereas the LTE model comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The Core i3 powered models get Intel UHD graphics, while the Core i5 and i7 models come with Iris XE integrated graphics.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7+ gets a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2,736×1,824 pixels. It features a 5-megapixel camera on the front and an 8-megapixel rear camera with support 1080p full-HD video recording. Connectivity options include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB Type-C and USB Type-A port, a microSD card reader, and the Surface Connect charging port on the WiFi variant. The LTE model also comes with a SIM card slot.
