“Both the E5 and E5 Plus come with stock Android and powerful batteries”
After announcing the Moto G6 (review) and Moto G6 Play, Lenovo-owned Motorola has now launched the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus. The fifth-gen Moto E smartphones are successors to the Moto E4 series that was launched in the country last year, and continues to offer a beefy battery. The handsets also ship with modern bezel-free displays.
Starting with the Moto E5 Plus, it’s the first phone in the E series that flaunts a glass-sandwich design and a Max Vision 18:9 display with thin bezels on the sides. The handset packs a 6-inch display and bears a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. For imaging, the E5 Plus features a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, and PDAF tech. At the front, it gets a 5-megapixel shooter. Both cameras get dedicated flash modules as well.
The E5 Plus runs Android Oreo out of the box and offers Moto enhancements on top. The highlight of the smartphone is its powerful 5,000mAh battery that comes with RapidCharge support. Other specifications of the phone include a dedicated microSD card slot, splash-resistant coating, and connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and GPS.
Coming to the Moto E5, the smartphone ships with 5.7-inch Max Vision 18:9 display, bearing a screen resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels.
