Motorola has announced two new G series smartphones – the Moto G 5G (2022) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022). The Moto G 5G (2022) is the new addition to Motorola’s G lineup. Meanwhile, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) succeeds last year’s Moto G Stylus (2021) with major upgrades and a significant price increase. For now, both the smartphones are first coming to the US and are scheduled to release in Canada soon. But, there is no word on when these will be available in other markets, including India.

The Moto G 5G (2022) and Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) will be available in the US for purchase as of now. The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) comes at a starting price of $499 (Rs 38,118). It is available for pre-orders currently while the sales are scheduled to start on April 28th. The Moto G 5G (2022) price starts from $399.99 (Rs 30,530) and will be available starting May 19th.

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) features a 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a 2,460×1,080 pixels resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a centred punch-hole cutout housing a 16MP selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) is powered by the Snapdragon 695G= chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS2.1 internal storage. The smartphone boasts a 5000mAh battery supporting 10W fast charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
On the rear, the smartphone has a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 118-degree FoV and a 2MP depth sensor. As the name implies, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) comes with an in-built stylus pen. It runs Android 12 out-of-the-box, and Motorola has promised an Android 13 update and three years of security updates. The smartphone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port for charging.
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) comes in two colours – Seafoam Green and Steel Blue. The smartphone measures 168.9 × 75.8 × 9.3mm and weighs 215 grams.

The Moto G 5G (2022) comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Mediatek’s Dimensity 700 SoC powers the smartphone. Under the hood, the chipset comes paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, expandable upto 1TB via a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 12 and comes with a promise of one Android update and three years of security updates.
Motorola’s new sub-$400 smartphone features a triple rear camera setup. The camera setup on the back includes a 50MP primary camera and a pair of 2MP sensors – one being a depth and another one a macro sensor. It has a 13MP sensor housed inside the punch hole cutout on the front. A 5000mAh battery backs the smartphone with support for 10W fast charging.
The Moto G 5G (2022) comes in a single Moonlight Gray colour. It weighs 204 grams and measures 165.4×75.8×9.44m. It also features an IP52 rating, making it splash resistant. The smartphone comes with a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a micro-SD card slot.
