Moto G42 has been launched in India after debuting globally last month alongside the Moto G62. The handset comes as a successor to the Moto G41 from last year. The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, a triple camera setup on the back arranged in a rectangular module, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, Dolby Atmos support for an immersive audio experience, and IP52 rating for spill-resistance. The Moto G42 features a PMMA Acrylic glass finish for the back panel and weighs just 175 grams.

Moto G42 sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ OLED display with 2,400 X 1080 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, SGS Blue Light certification, DCI-P3 colour gamut, a punch-hole cutout, and Night Mode for eye protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with Adreno 610 GPU for graphics. It packs 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage that is further expandable. The phone runs on Android 12-based MyUX custom skin that is close to stock Android.

Connectivity features include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, Dolby Atmos, stereo speakers, and dual SIM support.

Moving to optics, Moto G42 houses a triple camera setup at the back, featuring a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide/ depth hybrid lens, and a 2MP micro shooter. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
