“Motorola is expected to launch three new Moto G series smartphones – Moto G6, G6 Play, and G6 Plus”
Lenovo-owned Motorola’s upcoming Moto G series smartphones – the Moto G6, G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play – have seen a fair share of leaks and reports lately. Ahead of the unveiling, we have already seen the alleged renders and complete specs of the upcoming Moto smartphones. Now, Motorola has sent out invites for a press event on April 19th in Brazil, where the brand is expected to launch the latest Moto G series handsets.
The upcoming Moto event will take place at 10am on April 19th. Unfortunately, the invite doesn’t mention anything about the device (s) that will be unveiled at the event. However, the background image of the invite resembles with the wallpaper seen in the recently leaked renders of the Moto G6. This suggests towards the launch of the Moto G6 series at the event in Brazil.
As per the earlier reports, the Moto G6 will feature a 5.7-inch IPS 18:9 display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The phone is said to be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC, aided by 4GB of RAM. The handset is rumoured to offer 64GB of expandable storage, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, and a 16MP selfie snapper. At the rear, the phone is expected to sport a dual camera setup – 12MP + 5MP.
The Moto G6 Play is expected to sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is said to offer 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 12MP rear camera, a 5MP front snapper, and a beefy 4,000mAh battery. The rest of the Play variant specs are expected to be similar to the Moto G6.
As for the Moto G6 Plus, the handset will reportedly offer a bigger 5.93-inch display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The phone is expected to sport a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a 3,200mAh battery. Just like the Moto G6, the G6 Plus is also rumoured to sport a dual camera setup at the rear.
According to the reports, the Moto G6 will be priced at around Rs 16,000, while the Moto G6 Play is expected to be offered for around Rs 13,000. We should have official details on April 19th, so stay tuned for regular updates.
