Moto G7 to boast 27W fast charging, OIS for rear camera, reveals leaked retail package

“With 27W fast charging, the Moto G7 Plus would be one of the very few budget handsets to support the feature.”

There has been a tidal wave of Moto G7 leaks in the past week and it seems they won’t stop until the eventual launch of the handset early next month. Newly leaked live images of the Moto G7 Plus and its retail box have surfaced online today coming all the way from Portugal. While previous pricing leaks had some bad news, this one has some good info.

As per the retail box and material, the Moto G7 Plus will come with 27W TurboCharge. While current Motorola phones also have fast charging, that is nowhere near to what we will see on the Moto G7 Plus. This also makes the EUR 369 (~Rs 30,154) price tag, that leaked yesterday, somewhat bearable. Motorola phones also usually ship with a fast charger so buyers would be probably getting the feature out-of-the-box.

For now, this is a new feature that is only confirmed for the Moto G7 Plus. It is yet to be known if the standard Moto G7 will also boast the same feature, if not all the other models. Another feature leaked today is OIS for the rear camera which is also a great feature for video recording in budget phones.

These two new features should help Motorola justify the hefty price tag that is rumoured to be on its high-end G series device to a certain extent. The recent price leak hinted that the Moto G7 would cost EUR 300 (~Rs 24,515), while the G7 Plus will cost EUR 360 (~Rs 29,413).

The Moto G7 Plus is expected to get a 6.24-inch display with a new waterdrop notch and 1080x2270p resolution. Inside the chassis, the handset is believed to be featuring a Snapdragon 636 SoC powered by a 3,000mAh battery. There’s a combo of 12 MP + 5 MP dual cameras expected on the back and a single 16MP shooter for the front. The launch is on February 7 where Motorola will unveil a total of four devices in Brazil.
