“It will come with a tear-drop notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader”
The upcoming Moto G7 is one of the top anticipated smartphones of 2019. The G-series has been popular especially in the mid-segment, so much so that the leaks have caught new speed in lieu of the upcoming MWC in February. And we now have another one thanks to TheLeaker.com, who first spotted it – a listing on AliExpres of a Moto G7 case has confirmed our previous doubts regarding the phone’s design. It is in sync with previous leaked renders of all the four suspected variants of G7. The listing image shows the case with the smartphone inside it, revealing the waterdrop notch and dual cameras on the back. There’s also the Motorola logo at the back, placed below the camera module but going by the cutout in the case, it could double up as a fingerprint scanner, similar to the Moto P30.
Apart from this the volume rockers and power key are placed on the right side, while the bottom edge accommodates a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker grille, which is new as the current Moto G6 uses the earpiece as the loudspeaker. Other leaked Moto G7 specifications include the octa-core Snapdragon 632 SoC, 6.24-inch full-HD+ display, and 3,000mAh battery. The device will reportedly come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. On the optical front it is likely to feature dual 16MP + 5MP setup on the rear side and a 12MP selfie snapper. In terms of software, Moto G7 could boot the latest Android 9 Pie out of the box.
The mid-range smartphone is expected to be announced a few days ahead of the MWC next month and will be priced at Rs. 18,990 for the base variant.
