“Unlike the few other foldable smartphones, the Moto RAZR 2019 is expected to feature flip clamshell design”
Lenovo-owned Motorola’s first foldable smartphone Moto RAZR 2019 could break cover in the second week of November. According to a report by CNET, the vendor has started rolling out the press invites for a November 13th event that showcases the side-profile of the classic RAZR V3 phone in an animated image. It’s expected to be the launch of Moto RAZR 2019 with a clamshell design, which has been in the rumour mill for quite some time. Motorola said that the event will feature the “highly anticipated unveiling of a reinvented icon” – “An original unlike any other.”

Unlike the few other foldable smartphones launched so far, the Moto RAZR 2019 is expected to feature a vertical folding screen instead of horizontal. The design of the phone is likely to be inspired by the RAZR V3 and tweaked a little. As seen from the invite (above), RAZR’s signature hinge is pulled away from the edge of the handset to reveal a refreshed hinge underneath.
Courtesy to leaks and rumours, the handset will most likely flaunt a clamshell design. The phone is expected to fold inwards and offer a much compact device than the Samsung Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X. The Moto RAZR 2019 will reportedly pack a cover display, a foldable screen, a mid-range chipset from Snapdragon 700 series, and a smaller battery cell. As for the price, the new RAZR 2019 phone could cost around $1,500 (~roughly Rs 1,07,500), which is nearly $500 cheaper than Samsung’s foldable phone.
