“The new Moto Mods are compatible with all the Moto Z series smartphones”
Earlier in June, Lenovo-owned Motorola launched its latest modular smartphone called the Moto Z2 Play (review) in India. At the launch event of the phone, the company also showcased three new Moto Mods accessory for the device – the JBL SoundBoost 2, TurboPower Pack and GamePad. Today, at an event in New Delhi, the company has launched the all three Moto Mods in the country, which are compatible with all the Moto Z series smartphones.
Talking about the JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod first, the upgraded Moto Mod offers up to 10 hours of music playback. The new Mod comes with a water-resistant coating, and is being touted to deliver a better sound than its predecessor. The TurboPower Pack Moto Mod lets you snap it on your Moto Z series phone and instantly add an extra day of battery life, according to the brand. This Mod has a 3,500mAh battery, and can fast charge your Moto Z phone, thanks to up to 15W reverse charging support, according to the brand.
Finally, for the Moto Game Pad Mod, this one allows you to transform your Moto Z series smartphone into a handheld gaming machine. This Mod has two control sticks, a D-Pad and four action buttons to deliver an immersive gaming experience. The Game Mod also has a built-in 1,000mAH battery, and comes with its own charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the pricing, the JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod has been priced at Rs 6,999. The TurboPower Pack Moto Mod is being offered for Rs 5,999, while the Game Pad will set you back by Rs 6,999. They will go on sale on Flipkart and across all Motorola exclusive stores (Moto Hubs) across the country starting December 17th. The brand has also announced that starting December 22nd, you can rent a Moto Mod for a week by paying Rs 399. The trial use offer is available only for the new Mods, and not the older ones.
