Motorola has expanded its Edge series in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion, a new mid-premium smartphone with a large battery, curved display, and slim design. The device arrives as the successor to the Edge 60 Fusion with notable upgrades and a price hike, now starting at Rs 26,999, up from Rs 22,999. Motorola’s Edge series is undoubtedly its most popular, catering to the mid-range segment with a focus on stylish designs, good cameras, and an overall balanced package.
The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is headlined by what the company claims is the world’s first 50MP Sony LYT-710 sensor in a smartphone. The camera features an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS), and Motorola claims the sensor is designed to deliver improved low-light performance, sharper details, and a better dynamic range.
The camera system is enhanced by motoAI to optimise textures, colour accuracy, and motion detection in real time to reduce blur and improve clarity in fast-moving scenes. Motorola also emphasises colour accuracy through Pantone-validated colours and Pantone SkinTone validation, a feature the company has been promoting across its recent Edge devices.
The primary camera is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro and depth support and a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone also supports 4K video recording across all cameras, along with features like AI Photo Enhancement, Auto Night Vision, Adaptive Stabilisation, Portrait Mode with multiple focal lengths, Horizon Lock, and Hyperlapse.

On the front, the Edge 70 Fusion features a 6.78-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 5,200 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The panel supports HDR10+, 10-bit colour depth, and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and is Pantone validated for colour accuracy. A curved display adds to the overall immersive experience when viewing content on the screen.
For audio, the phone includes dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support. Design remains a strong focus for Motorola’s Edge lineup. The Edge 70 Fusion features linen-inspired fabric finishes on the rear panel, giving it a textured look and feel. The phone is also quite slim, measuring 7.99mm in thickness and weighing 193g.
It will be available in three Pantone-curated colours: Blue Surf, Country Air, and Silhouette.

The Edge 70 Fusion is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which is a generational upgrade over the Edge 60 Fusion (review), so we can expect notable improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance. The company claims the chip can cross 1 million points on AnTuTu, positioning it competitively among upper mid-range processors. This is something we’ll test ourselves and see how it performs.
The phone also comes with a 4473mm² vapour chamber cooling system to help maintain performance and heat dissipation during gaming and heavy workloads. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, and support for 16 5G bands. On the software side, the device runs Hello UI based on Android 16 out of the box, and comes with 3 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
Motorola is also introducing motoAI 2.0, which brings features like contextual suggestions, AI image generation tools, transcription, and content creation features. The system integrates with assistants such as Perplexity, Copilot, and Google Gemini, allowing users to switch between different AI services.
One of the biggest highlights of the Edge 70 Fusion is its 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola says can deliver up to 52 hours of battery life under typical usage. The phone supports 68W TurboPower fast charging, which the company claims can provide a full day’s usage with around 10 minutes of charging. Large batteries are becoming increasingly common in the mid-range segment, with 7,000mAh now the standard, but the Edge 70 Fusion stands out by combining a high-capacity battery with a relatively slim design.
Motorola has also emphasised durability with the Edge 70 Fusion. The phone carries MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and is said to have passed 16 durability tests designed to simulate extreme environmental conditions. The device also offers IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Fusion at Rs 26,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 26,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant can be purchased at Rs 32,999. The smartphone is available for a limited sale period today between 12 pm and 4 pm on Flipkart. It will go on sale from March 12th, 12 pm onwards on Flipkart, Motorola.in, and at leading retail stores.
On paper, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion looks like a strong contender in the mid-premium segment. Its large 7000mAh battery, curved AMOLED display, and slim design help it stand out in a category where many phones offer similar chipsets. The Edge 70 Fusion is recommended for those who prioritise battery life, design, and a vibrant curved display. It’s more for people who want a sleek and stylish phone without compromising on battery life, cameras, and display. But you may still want to go through reviews and comparisons to see if the Edge 70 Fusion offers the best value for its price.
