Motorola’s first gaming-focused smartphone, Edge 70 Max, will commence its sale in India starting today. The handset was unveiled last week as a sub-flagship offering from the brand, prioritising performance and other feature-rich hardware. Motorola Edge 70 Max India price, offers
The Motorola Edge 70 Max (first impressions) is priced in India at Rs 54,999 for the base 8GB RAM variant, while the top-end 12GB RAM option costs Rs 58,999. As part of the launch offer, the OEM is offering a Rs 5,000 discount with bank discounts and exchange offers on the smartphone, bringing its net effective price down to Rs 49,999.
The handset is Flipkart exclusive and comes in three Pantone colour options: Aqua Grey, Dark Shadow, and Ice Melt.

The 6.8-inch flat ‘Extreme’ 10-bit AMOLED display is among the phone’s biggest strengths. The panel supports Quad HD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 7,000 nits peak brightness, along with HDR10+ support, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, water touch support, and an Always-on Display. The panel is complemented by slim bezels and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.
At the core of the Motorola Edge 70 Max is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The chipset is also used in Motorola’s Signature series and competing smartphones such as the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R. It is capable of handling everyday tasks, demanding games, and on-device AI workloads with ease.
Motorola has also equipped the phone with its ArcticMesh cooling system, featuring a large 5,500mm vapour chamber. The cooling solution is designed to keep temperatures under control during intensive workloads and supports 120fps gaming in titles such as BGMI and COD: Mobile.
The phone’s 7,100mAh battery supports 90W wired charging, while Qi 2.2 magnetic wireless charging support is available at up to 25W. This allows the Edge 70 Max to work with MagSafe-style accessories, adding a level of convenience that remains uncommon among Android smartphones.
The camera setup is comparatively modest, comprising a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. There is no dedicated telephoto camera, which could limit the phone’s versatility for portraits and close-up shots. A 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max features an aluminium frame, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an IP69 rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification. The handset runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI, with support for three major Android OS updates and five years of security updates, which is lower than what rivals are offering.

Core specifications make the Motorola Edge 70 Max an appealing option for gamers and power users. The handset also boasts a handful of premium features, making it a more promising option than other similarly priced gaming phones such as iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R. That said, the rivals offer longer software support than the Motorola Edge 70 Max.
The Motorola smartphone also lacks camera versatility, with no dedicated telephoto lens.
