Motorola Edge 70 Plus debuts at IFA 2026 with a 200MP camera, 144Hz display, and 6,500mAh battery

Highlights

Motorola has further expanded its Edge 70 lineup with the new Motorola Edge 70 Plus at the ongoing IFA 2026. The latest model joins possibly the biggest Motorola Edge portfolio to date, which already includes the Edge 70 Max, Edge 70 Pro+, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Fusion, and Edge 70. Motorola now captures every corner of the mid-range smartphone market with its latest addition. The smartphone was unveiled at IFA 2026 alongside the Watch Ultra and the Razr 70 Swarovski edition.

Motorola Edge 70 Plus specifications

The Edge 70 Plus is built around a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a 2772 x 1272-pixel resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches up to 5,200 nits of peak brightness and supports HDR10+ and Pantone Validated Colors. Motorola has also added Gorilla Glass 7i, an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP64 water resistance, and MIL-STD-810H durability. The phone has a sturdy build, but the IP64 rating may feel lacking among phones that offer IP68 and more.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. You also get up to 24GB of virtual memory and expandable storage up to 1TB via a microSD card. The device ships with Android 16 and will receive security updates for five years.
