“The Motorola Edge will reportedly tout a waterfall display, punch-hole camera Snapdragon and a high refresh rate”
The Motorola Edge design has been leaked this week through live images courtesy XDA Developers. The handset, which may launch soon, will be a mid-range offering from Motorola that will tout a waterfall display as the name of the phone suggests. As per the Motorola Edge live images, the handset will feature a punch-hole display with extremely curved edges and a high refresh rate. The handset will have an array of cameras on the back headlined by a 64MP main sensor. Other Motorola Edge specifications may include a beefy battery cell, stock-Android, a 25MP selfie camera and a Snapdragon 765 SoC. Apart from the Motorola Edge, there may also be a Motorola Edge+ variant also in the making.

Motorola Edge will allegedly sport a “waterfall” display that seems to be curved from the edges, just enough to leave room for a physical power button and volume rocker. The rear panel of the phone appears to have a glass layer with triple cameras vertically aligned at the top left corner. The setup is tipped to include a 64MP primary sensor, a 16MP wide-angle sensor, and an 8MP telephoto sensor. The sensors will reportedly be accompanied by a laser auto-focus and dual-LED flash.
The front camera of the phone is expected to sport a 25MP shooter in a punch-hole atop the 6.67-inch screen. The display will reportedly bear Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340p) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate. The Motorola Edge is said to offer an option to switch the refresh rate between the standard 60Hz and an “auto” refresh rate mode as well. “The settings page states that the ‘auto’ mode uses ‘AI to always show the optimal refresh rate.’ It’s unclear exactly what this means,” added the report.
Coming to the performance, the Motorola Edge is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A 4,500mAh battery is likely to fuel the handset, while Android 10 may take care of its software side of things. For security, the Motorola Edge is tipped to sport an under-display fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the phone would have a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card support, bottom-firing stereo speakers, USB-C port, NFC, and emblazoned Motorola logo at the back.
