The Moto Edge X30 has been launched in China and alongside the new flagship the company also dropped another phone, named the Motorola Edge S30 5G. While the former features the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the latter is powered by Qualcomm’s 2021 flagship processor, the Snapdragon 888+. The device tails the Motorola Edge S 5G and becomes the second device in the lineup. The new Motorola Edge S30 5G adopts a more polished Motorola design language, powerful hardware, and a stock android experience.

Motorola Edge S30 5G price

The Motorola Edge S30 5G has accompanied the Moto Edge X30 launch in China and will go on sale there on December 12th. The Motorola Edge S30 5G comes in with a refined Motorola design language, great hardware, and a stock Android 11 experience. There are two colour options – Phantom Black and Glacier Blue. There are three variants on offer – 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. The prices start at CNY 1,799 (~ Rs 21,393) while the top-end 12GB+256GB will cost CNY 2,599 (~ Rs 30,911). According to the official Motorola China website, the Motorola Edge S30 5G will be going on a pre-sale on December 12th and final payments are to be made on December 21st.

There is no official word on the device’s India launch.

Motorola Edge S30 5G specifications

The Motorola Edge S30 5G starts off with a 6.8-inch straight-edge FHD+ LCD with 2460 X 1080 pixels. The panel has a 144Hz refresh rate, a 576Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR support. The display is also SGS certified meaning it’s friendlier to your eyes. On the inside, the Motorola Edge S30 5G gets a Snapdragon 888+ chipset from Qualcomm. The processor one-ups the normal Snapdragon 888 chipset (clocked at 2.84GHz) with its higher 3.0GHz clocked speed.

At the back, there is a 100MP triple camera setup that consists of a 100MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an LED flash. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The Motorola Edge S30 5G gets Dolby Atmos-certified speakers with QSS. The smartphone runs on Android 11 out of the box.
