“The details were displayed on its website for employees in Brazil, which were later taken down”
Motorola is expected to unveil the Moto G7 smartphone during an event on February 7th in Brazil. In the meantime, the company has mistakenly uploaded almost all the information regarding the Moto G7 lineup on its website for employees in Brazil. Reported first by CNET, the web pages have since been taken down but not before revealing everything we wanted to know. There will be four variants of Moto G7 on offer, including the vanilla model, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power. In terms of design, the Moto G7 and G7 Plus will feature a teardrop notch, minimal bezels and a fingerprint reader at the back which doubles up as the Moto logo. The more affordable Power and Play variants are expected to feature the regular notch. The smartphones will offer a stock Android 9 Pie experience out-of-the-box.
Moto G7 will run on the mid-range Snapdragon 632 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB in-built storage expandable via microSD card. This will be used to power a 6.2-inch display offering a 2270×1080 pixel resolution and 403ppi density. In terms of optics, it’ll use a dual 12MP+5MP setup at the back with aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.2 respectively coupled with an 8MP lens on the front for taking selfies. The phone will sip juice from a 3,000mAh battery pack. On the other hand, Moto G7 Plus will also use the same display setup but will be powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz combined with 4GB of RAM for the base variant and 64 GB expandable storage. A 6GB RAM variant is also expected.
Camera-wise it will offer better specifications than the vanilla model, featuring a dual 16MP+5MP setup at the back with f/1.7 and f/2.2 aperture, while the front camera remains the same. It will also house a 3,000mAh battery and a Face recognition feature similar to Moto G7. Coming to Moto G7 Power, the smartphone will feature a lower 1,520×720 pixel 6.2-inch display with Snapdragon 632 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB in-built storage (expandable). It will sport a single 12MP sensor at the back with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front camera. In terms of battery size, G7 Power will be the standout model featuring a massive 5,000mAh pack.
Lastly Moto G7 Play will offer 2GB RAM and 32GB in-built storage (expandable) for the base variant in addition to a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 632 processor combined with a 5.7-inch display and 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options of all the models include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11n.
