The Motorola Moto E5 is expected to be launched in Q2 of 2018
The Lenovo-owned brand, Motorola, launched Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus (first impressions) in June last year. The brand is expected to launch this year’sMoto E series smartphone in a few months. We now have a good look at the front and rear panels of the upcoming Moto E5 smartphone, thanks to arender shared by mysmartprice.
From the image, we can see that the upcoming smartphone will come with the same metal clad design as its predecessors. However, there is now an important change as the brand has moved the fingerprint scanner to the rear panel just below the circular camera module. The scanner is placed where the trademark Moto dimpleusually is, and even retains the Motorola batwing logo.On its chin, where the fingerprint scanner used to be, is Motorola branding. From the looks of it, the display of the handset retainsthe conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. Other details revealed by the new image include a front selfie flash and micro-USB port. Apart from these details, no further information is available, though we can expect it to run stock Android out of the box.
To recap on the previous-gen Moto E4, it ships with a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D glass on top. There is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM for performance. There is 16GB of storage onboard, which can be further increased using a microSD card. In the camera department, it gets an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. For power requirements, there is a 2,800mAh battery. Thehandset has been priced at Rs 8,999 in India.
As for the Moto E5, it is likely that the brand will unveil it in the second quarter of this year. We can also expect that the Moto E5 Plus will land alongside.
