A wide, foldable Razr smartphone from Motorola has been in the news since the company officially teased it on its social media accounts over a month ago. Touted as the ‘Moto Razr Flex’, a newly posted Geekbench listing has revealed the processor the wide Motorola foldable could run on. This follows Motorola’s official confirmation that it will release the Signature 27 in India in the coming months, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Motorola Razr Flex processor and other details revealed
According to Android Headlines, Motorola’s upcoming wide-style foldable will be called the Moto Razr, with the codename ‘Parker’. The report also says the smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the same chipset that powers the Moto Razr Fold and Motorola Signature. The foldable’s headline feature could be a 6.92-inch OLED main display with a 1728 × 2364 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate that supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, while the cover screen would be a 4.97-inch OLED panel with a 1736 × 1140 resolution.
The dual rear camera setup could include a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide unit, while both the inner and cover displays could get 32MP selfie cameras. A 5,000mAh dual-cell battery will run the show with USB-PD wired charging and 25W Qi2 wireless charging support. The phone will launch with Android 17, offer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, and carry IP48/IP49 durability ratings.
In addition, a design mockup published by Android Headlines suggests the smartphone could come in two colour shades: PANTONE Dark Botanical Garden and PANTONE Coriander. On the rear, the two camera lenses could sit in a pill-shaped module, accompanied by an LED flashlight and a sensor.
Moto Razr Flex visits Geekbench
A newly posted Geekbench listing shows a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC powering the Razr Flex, which corroborates Android Headlines’ report. The device tested on Geekbench 6 carried 12GB of RAM and ran Android 17. Turning to the results, the Razr Flex scored 2,669 points in the single-core test and 8,837 in the multi-core test.
The listing lists the device as the Motorola Razr Flex 27, where the “27” moniker plausibly suggests it’s a 2027 device, even if it launches in 2026. The Signature 27 follows the same naming scheme.
From the looks of it, the Motorola Razr Flex is well-suited to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo, which go on sale tomorrow. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the Razr Flex may fall short in raw performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and A20 Pro in Samsung and Apple’s latest wide-style foldables. For cameras, the Xiaomi 18 Fold seems like the best pick for those who want a flexible camera on a wide foldable, thanks to its added telephoto lens. The 18 Fold is currently limited to China, though.
All in all, if you’re looking for a compact foldable that takes many software cues from stock Android/Pixel UI and you’re fine with not getting the best raw performance, the Razr Flex could be worth the wait.
