Highlights
  • The Moto Edge 30 Ultra was initially tipped to launch on September 8th
  • New posts have suggested a September 10th launch date
  • Motorola could launch two new phones in the Edge 30 series this week

Motorola India is expected to have a busy schedule this month. The company had previously posted about a potential launch event of a smartphone on Thursday, September 8th — but with the tweet having been deleted now, it is not clear if the event has been postponed. Reports have stated that there could be two launch events this week itself — on September 8th and 10th. Now, a new post by reliable tipster Abhishek Yadav has revealed a Flipkart teaser to state that Motorola would be launching a smartphone in India at 1PM on Saturday, September 10th.

What is Motorola launching this month?

The headlining product launch that is expected of the Lenovo-owned company this month is the Moto Edge 30 Ultra — a flagship grade smartphone that could offer top of the line specifications, including a world-first 200MP main camera on a phone. However, based on the teaser post shared by Yadav, the smartphone could now be launched on September 10th, instead of 8th.

However, there is some ambiguity that remains regarding the potential launch date of the smartphone. The leaked teaser poster from Yadav shows the render of a smartphone that does not resemble images of the Edge 30 Ultra that we have seen so far — which appears to come with a dual curved edge display in tow. The render on the launch teaser appears to more closely resemble the Moto Edge 30 Fusion instead, which is expected to be a premium but not flagship smartphone.

The Edge 30 Fusion was interestingly spotted recently through its retail packaging, courtesy Pricebaba. The device appears to offer a 50MP triple rear camera, a 6.55-inch pOLED full HD+ display and a 4,400mAh battery, and could potentially cost Rs 49,999 in India. The Edge 30 Ultra, meanwhile, is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, along with 125W fast charging, a 200MP triple rear camera, and a 60MP front camera as well.

It could be possible that both the devices are launched together, or the Edge 30 Ultra could come tomorrow while the Fusion is launched on September 10th. However, as of now, no specific details are available — interested buyers should keep their eyes peeled for details from Motorola India through the week.
