Motorola is reportedly working on a new smartphone series called ‘Signature’. It’s expected to be part of a new premium smartphone series from Motorola, which was earlier believed to be called ‘Edge 70 Ultra’, but will now be known as Signature. Images of what’s supposed to be the Motorola Signature have been shared by Evan Blass on X, along with a teaser image highlighting the new smartphone series.
Blass has shared two images of the Motorola Signature smartphone in Carbon and Martini Olive colours. The design is very Motorola-like with a square camera module on the top-left corner. It’s a curved display with a punch-hole camera for selfies. The smartphone appears to have a vegan leather-like back panel. The phone’s design also looks very slim, with the camera module looking flush with the back panel and not protruding.
The Motorola Signature smartphone will feature a triple-camera setup at the back, which is said to include a periscope telephoto camera with a 12–71mm focal range, and a Sony LYTIA camera sensor with OIS. This suggests the brand is focusing on offering a versatile camera setup with a periscope telephoto lens, which is great for portraits and long-range shots.
The smartphone is also said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with 16GB of RAM. This is a new chipset from Qualcomm promising major performance gains, and it sits just below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Motorola Signature is also tipped to feature a 1.5K OLED display along with Dolby Vision.
Based on the leaked specifications, the Motorola Signature is shaping up to be a premium mid-range smartphone. Right now, only the OnePlus 15R is confirmed to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, and this one’s a performance-focused phone. More phones are expected to launch with the chipset soon. The Motorola Signature is expected to stand out for its design and camera capabilities, along with a performance-driven chipset.
There’s no official word yet on the Motorola Signature, including whether it will launch in India. So far, Motorola’s premium portfolio has been split between the Razr series at the flagship end and the Edge lineup in the premium mid-range segment. The Signature, if introduced, could bridge that gap with a more flagship-like offering. Details remain scarce and largely speculative at this stage. That said, the concept itself is intriguing and could add fresh competition in this space. If you are not in a hurry, this is one device worth waiting to see how it shapes up.
