No less than 25 new TV show and movies were released this week on OTT platforms Disney Plus Hotstar, Netflix, Prime Video, and Zee5

A new week means new releases to watch! In addition to these, new episodes of the popular TV show Koffee with Karan as well as She-Hulk and The Rings of Power were also released on OTT this week. The House of the Dragon (HOD) episode 4 will release on September 11th, but it will only stream on Disney Plus Hotstar in India on September 12th from 06:30 am (IST) onwards.

1. Once Upon A Small Town

Once Upon A Small Town is a South Korean romantic comedy that stars Park Soo-yeong, Choo Young-woo, and Baek Sung-chul in lead roles. An adaptation of a web novel by Park Ha-min, this web series revolves around a young Seoul veterinarian Han Ji-yul who unwillingly has to shift to the hospital run by his grandfather in Huidong village. There he meets a pretty police officer who is a town insider but harbours a secret, and a young farmer who owns a peach farm. Since he came to the village due to forced circumstances, he plans to escape as soon as possible. Will he succeed?

2. Rick and Morty Season 6

The absurd and quirky adult animated series is back with its latest season on Netflix. In Dan Harmon’s Emmy Award-winning cartoon comedy series, the brilliant scientist Rick and the restless teenage grandson Morty are set for another intriguing adventure. The duo is still stranded in space and Rick needs to save Morty as he gets trapped. Rick seeks Summer’s help who needs to do a Die Hard, about which she has absolutely no clue. In the latest season as well, their wild escapade takes them to another dimension where a bunch of dinosaurs awaits them.

4. Diorama

Diorama is a Swedish comedy-drama movie written and directed by Tuva Novotny. This offbeat and understated film follows the love story of Frida and Björn. 6. Sheng Wang: Sweet & Juicy

Another Netflix comedy special released this week is Sheng Wang: Sweet & Juicy. In this one-hour stand-up special movie, Sheng Wang shares sweet and juicy experiences of life. He delivers a laid-back set on the best part of any office job – which is printing. Sheng also explains how snoring is an evolutionary blunder, while also exploring other topics like mammograms and juicing. 7. Untold: The Race of the Century

Untold: The Race of the Century is a sports documentary movie about the historic win of the Australia II yacht crew at the 1983 America’s Cup. It is a thrilling underdog story that broke the longest winning streak in sports of 132 years of the New York Yacht Club in 1983. 9. Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer

Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer is a crime docuseries about a real-life serial killer. The story unravels when a team of police officers starts investigating the murder case of a journalist named Dheerendra Singh. While investigating, the team comes across a possible suspect – Raja Kolander and his secret diary that reveals the names of 13 more victims, leading to the speculation of cannibalism. Only Raja could tell the real story behind these brutal murders, but the alleged accused pleads not guilty.

10. Vikram

Kamal Haasan stars in and as Vikram, which is a high-octane Tamil language action thriller movie. This movie revolves around a black ops team headed by Agent Vikram who has to bring down a drug syndicate group named Vetti Vagaiyara. The masked vigilantes are doing their job, but soon a special investigator is assigned to look into these serial killings. Not fully aware of the black ops mission, the investigator tries to unravel the mystery but soon realizes that the case is not that simple.

Another veteran actor Suresh Gopi stars in and as Paappan, which is a Malayalam language crime thriller movie. As the supercop makes a comeback with this case, an emotional tryst awaits him as his estranged daughter ASP Vincy Abraham is leading the investigation of this gruesome murder case.

12. Thor: Love & Thunder

Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, a superhero movie, is a sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017). In this 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the God of Thunder – Thor is on a mission of self-discovery. However, he had to cut short his journey because of a looming threat of a galactic killer – Gorr the God Butcher. Gorr and his daughter Love seek the extinction of gods and the duo’s next target is New Asgard. Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return is a documentary that explores the unseen behind the scene footage of the iconic Star Wars movies. It brings back Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader), along with Moses Ingram (Third sister/Reva Sevander) and Vivien Lyra Blair (Princess Leia Organa). 14. Wedding Season

The romantic comedy thriller Wedding Season is the first UK Disney+ Star Original series. The story revolves around Katie and her wedding, which turns disastrous as she is surrounded by dead bodies on her wedding day. Her new husband as well as all the members of the groom’s family are found dead on the wedding day. Police think that these people have been killed by Katie’s lover Stefan, who in turn suspects Katie. However, Katie thinks that these murders have been done at the behest of her ex-husband. No one knows who the real culprit is.

15. Tierra Incógnita

Tierra Incógnita is an Argentinian mystery-horror web series comprising eight episodes. The story revolves around Eric Dalaras who seeks to find the mystery behind the disappearance of his parents at the abandoned amusement park Tierra Incógnita around eight years ago. Tierra Incógnita is located in the town of Cabo Qwert, where Eric lived as a child, and he must return to this place to solve this mystery. 17. The Anthrax Attacks

The Anthrax Attacks is an investigative documentary about the 2001 bioterrorism that took place in the US a week after the dreadful 11 September attack. Also known as the Amerithrax (America + Anthrax), this attack on Americans was done through letters that contained the deadly anthrax spores, which killed five people and infected 17 others. Consequently, it created panic across the country and an FBI investigation was launched, and this documentary focuses on this complex FBI investigation.

18. Cars on the Road

The animated comedy series Cars on the Road gets a Disney+ Day premiere. Based on the Cars franchise, the new series follows the story of Lighting McQueen and his best friend Mater as they embark on a road trip to meet the latter’s sister. This cross-country road trip is going to be interesting with new characters joining them along with a few old ones reprising their roles. Along the trip, the duo meets a new friend Ivy – a monster truck and even come across many scenarios, including an unfriendly encounter with dinosaur-like cars.

21. Entrapped

Entrapped is the sequel of the award-winning series Trapped, which has been renamed after it switched to Netflix. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir reprise their roles as Andri and Hinrika respectively in this gritty and suspenseful series. Andri and Hinrika are investigating a murder case of a cult member. During the investigation, they realise that the deceased was connected to the disappearance of one of the girl members of a biker gang many years ago. Many things unravel while investigating this case, adding to the complexity of the mystery.

Ek Villain Returns is an action thriller movie that stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in lead roles. This is a story of one-sided love, where two men take different approaches to deal with it. One becomes a hero as his love is unconditional, while the other becomes a villain as his love turns into hatred and he starts killing innocent girls who have one-sided lovers.
