Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced a bunch of new features for Groups on WhatsApp, the company’s popular instant messaging platform. The new features were introduced over the CEO’s Instagram Broadcast Channel and will now give greater control to group admins. WhatsApp will also make it easier for users to check common groups with the new set of features. WhatsApp had also recently also rolled out a feature that allows users to post voice notes on their Status.
Latest WhatsApp features
WhatsApp’s new feature that gives more control to group admins comes into the picture when an invite link to a WhatsApp group has been circulated. The admins will now be able to view all entry requests in one place and can thereby choose to grant admission to relevant users only. Along with this, WhatsApp has also rolled out a handy feature that lets users see the groups that are common with a particular contact. To use this, one can search for a contact on WhatsApp, and the app will automatically flash the groups that are common with the contact right below the search bar.
WhatsApp is one the most widely used messaging services in the world with its presence spread over 100 countries. The app also has over 2.2 billion active users (as of 2021) and generated USD 906 million in revenue in 2022 (via Business of Apps). The Meta-owned platform hence keeps implementing new features to enhance user experience.
