“With the new cashback promo, the Nokia 2 can be yours for Rs 4,999 and Nokia 3 for Rs 7,499”
To ward off the competition from the Reliance JioPhone, telecom operator Airtel launched its ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative. The brand has been aggressively partnering up with popular handset makers like Samsung, Intex, itel, Karbonn and Celkon, among others. Now, Airtel has gone ahead and partnered with HMD Global to offer the latter’s affordable 4G smartphones – the Nokia 2 (first impressions) and Nokia 3 (first impressions) with a cashback of Rs 2,000 as part of the initiative.
The latest offer will bring the effective price of Nokia 2 down to Rs 4,999 from Rs 6,999, and from Rs 9,499 to Rs 7,499 for Nokia 3. The cashback amount of Rs 2,000 will be returned to the customers over a period of 3 years. To be eligible for the cashback, it is mandatory for the buyer to recharge their Airtel numbers with Rs 3,500 in first 18 months of usage, and with another Rs 3,500 in the next 18 months. After the completion of the first 18 months, they will get the first cashback of Rs 500, and on completion of the next 18 months, they will get the remaining Rs 1,500.
To recap on the Nokia 3, the device is available via major brick-and-mortar retail stores across the country. The device boots stock Android Nougat out of the box and comes with Google Assistant built in. The phone comes with a 5-inch display that offers a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The performance of the device is driven by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6737 processor that has been paired with 2GB of RAM. For photography, you get an 8-megapixel shooter at the rear and another 8-megapixel camera on the front. The device is powered by a 2,650mAh non-removable battery.
