Microsoft has launched a new Nokia-branded feature phone called the Nokia 216 Dual SIM in India. The main highlight of the phone is that it sports VGA cameras on the front and back, which are both accompanied by LED flash. It has been priced at Rs 2,495, and will be available in the country via major brick-and-mortar stores from October 24th in black, grey and blue hues.

The Nokia 216 DS comes with Opera Mobile Store to let you download apps and games. It also lets you download one premium game from Gameloft for free every month for a year, including popular titles like GT Racing and Little Big City. The phone comes with FM Radio, MP3 and video players, Bluetooth, and can accept microSD cards up to 32GB in size. The device’s rear flash can also be used as a torch. It features a polycarbonate shell, and comes with matching colour keys.

The Nokia 216 Dual SIM offers a 2.4-inch QVGA display. The phone can store up to 2,000 contacts on its internal memory. It is fuelled by a 1,020mAh battery, which can deliver up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 19 days of standby time. Apart from Bluetooth 3.0, its other connectivity options include 2G, Slam Sharing, and micro-USB.

The Nokia 216 is the first Microsoft with Nokia branding to be launched after it sold the latter’s feature phone business to FIH Mobile Ltd. The deal is expected to close later this year. Until the closing of the transaction, Microsoft can continue to launch Nokia-branded feature phones.
