The HMD Global-owned brand, Nokia recently launched its latest budget smartphone – 3.1 Plus in India. The smartphone that comes in as the successor to the Nokia 3.1 now seems to be headed towards China. 91mobiles spotted the handset with the model number TA-1117 has been spotted on the website of China’s regulatory – TENAA.
To recap on the spec sheet of the smartphone, the Nokia 3.1 Plus comes with 6-inch display, which flaunts the 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. The smartphone doesn’t have the ubiquitous display notch and features massive bezels on top and bottom of the display. Under the hood, the smartphone features the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset (4 x 2GHz + 2 x 1.5GHz) for handling the performance. In India, the handset is being offered in a single variant – 3GB + 32GB. However, the smartphone also comes in a 2GB + 16GB variant, which might find its way to the smartphone market in China. The onboard storage can be further expanded up to 400GB using a microSD card.
As for the imaging, the Nokia 3.1 Plus comes with a 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear panel. For selfies and video calling you get an 8-megapixel sensor on the front. The smartphone comes as an Android One device, which means it boots stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The smartphone also gets three years of software support including two major Android upgrades. For power requirements, the smartphone relies on a beefy 3,500mAh battery and offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
In India, the Nokia 3.1 Plus has been priced at Rs 11,499 and comes in Blue, White and Baltic colours. As of now, the availability or launch date of the handset in China is not known.
